Firefly painting

The idea of painting fireflies has been in my head for a while.

I can still remember the first time I saw a firefly..... I had dragged my poor unsuspecting husband and children deep into the Khoa Sok jungle in Thailand, purely because I had heard that we would see fireflies, and we did! Just  before a few days of drama which  included landslides, swollen rivers and evacuating our tree house.
Since then I have seen fireflies in much more relaxed circumstances, while gazing over the rice fields and lush vegetation surrounding Ubud, Bali.

This beautiful old willow tree is in my back yard. I love to imagine it with fireflies
