New Koi painting

Started work on a new Koi painting a couple of days ago, hopefully I'll finish it today.

Here are a few photos of the work in progress.

When I began it was going to be more contemporary than my usual style.

But that didn't last long

I thought there was going to be just two friends swimming along.

Before I knew it they were being chased by a third fish, who wants to go wherever they are going.

 Now I'm not quite sure of the social dynamics, are they friends or family ?

 Have to wait and see when the paintings finished I guess.
